How We Help

The full picture. Every time.

Most people come to us with one specific question. What they often discover is that the answer connects to several others they had not yet thought to ask.

A Will that does not account for superannuation. A separation that has not triggered an update to an Enduring Power of Attorney. A business succession arrangement that leaves a family trust without the right control structure on death. These are not unusual situations. They are the situations we see every day.

Our approach is always to review the full picture, not just the question in front of us. What follows is a guide to the areas we work in and what each one covers.

Wills & Estate Planning

Estate planning is the foundation of everything we do. It is the work you put in place now so that the people who depend on you are protected when it matters most.

Wills & Estate Planning
A Will covers assets held in your own name. For most people, significant assets sit outside a Will entirely. Our Wills & Estate Planning page covers what a properly prepared estate plan actually needs to include. LEARN MORE

Testamentary Trusts
A testamentary trust Will can protect an inheritance from divorce, bankruptcy, and unnecessary tax for years after your death. This is a subset of the Will conversation, not a separate service. LEARN MORE

Probate
When someone dies, the executor must obtain formal recognition from the Supreme Court before assets can be released. This is called a grant of Probate, and it is the starting point for administering any estate. LEARN MORE

Estate Administration
Probate is only the beginning. Estate administration covers everything that follows: collecting assets, paying liabilities, managing claims, and distributing the estate correctly. LEARN MORE

Inheritance Claims
South Australian law allows certain people to claim they have not been adequately provided for from an estate, even where the Will is valid. Time limits are strict. Our page covers who can claim, what the court considers, and what executors need to know. LEARN MORE

Powers of Attorney & Advance Care Directives

Your family has no automatic right to act if you lose mental capacity. An Enduring Power of Attorney (written authority for your chosen person to manage your finances) and an Advance Care Directive (written instructions for your medical care) put your chosen people in control, not the Guardianship Board. LEARN MORE

Superannuation & Death Benefits

Your Will does not cover your superannuation. For most South Australians it is their largest single asset. Without a current Binding Death Benefit Nomination, the trustee of your fund decides who receives it. Our Superannuation & Death Benefits page covers your options in full. LEARN MORE

Family Law

Separation and divorce carry legal consequences that need to be addressed carefully. Our family law team handles property settlements and children’s matters with the clarity and care your family deserves.

Family Law Property Settlement
When a relationship ends, assets and liabilities must be divided. This applies to both married couples and de facto partners. Our Property Settlement page covers how the process works and how to reach a resolution that holds. LEARN MORE

Family Law: Children’s Matters
Arrangements for the care of children after separation are among the most important decisions any parent will make. Our Children’s Matters page covers parental responsibility, parenting arrangements, and when court involvement becomes necessary. LEARN MORE

Conveyancing

Buying or selling property in South Australia is a legal transaction. Our conveyancing team handles the full process, from Form 1 preparation through to settlement, for both buyers and sellers. LEARN MORE
